Sonofhibachi's first album - The Greatest Dancer

Sonofhibachi are: The Mexican (Vocals/Guitar/Kazoo) (the good looking one) and The Outlaw (Bass/Keyboards) (not quite so good looking). Formed in April 2001 the lads met in a dirty, downtown bar in Portsmouth whilst engaged in a game of 'Tequila Suicide'. They also happened to be next-door neighbours and The Mexican would often hear The Outlaw's 'pig trotters' clambering over his bass guitar at 3am after returning from the pub.

It wasn't long before the two of them had joined together to make beautiful music (not withstanding one or two complaints from the neighbours). Sonofhibachi soon started writing their own music, and managed to talk their way into their first gig at a local pub 'fresh from their highly acclaimed New Zealand Tour'. The gig was going well until The Mexican forgot to turn on his microphone at the beginning of set two. They didn't get paid but instead managed to secure free drinks all night - which may have accounted for their rapid depreciation over the next 4 hours.

Since then Sonofhibachi have had several successful pub gigs around Portsmouth, but are hoping to expand further afield as soon as they find transport that will make it. Their last few gigs have been acoustic sets, but in the near future they hope to find a permanent 'Hibachi' drummer and lead guitarist for gigs at Wembly etc. 'The Greatest Dancer' is Sonofhibachi's first album, recorded in Purple Studios, Norwich with the help of session drummer John Young.

Band Members
Chris Bowen THE MEXICAN -
Press-ganged into the Navy outside the 'Spice Island' pub, Portsmouth in 1801 and regained consciousness 4 years later during the Battle of Trafalgar. Drunk Gin with BlackBeard and then escaped in a time machine in order to pursue a handsome career as an International Rock'n'Roll Superstar.
Neil Ellis THE OUTLAW -
Dropped on the 'E' String of a bass guitar as a baby, there was always something different about 'The Outlaw', apart from his unique wardrobe and incredibly long nose.
